Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area
Sorry this event is CANCELLED due to slushy conditions on Lake Laurentian.
Join Conservation Sudbury for our seventh annual Friends and Family Ice Fishing Day!
When: February 17th, 2019
Where: Lake Laurentian Conservation Area Nature Chalet (2309 South Bay Rd.)
Time: 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m.
That weekend is an Ontario Family Fishing weekend, so no fishing licenses are required (more information at ontariofamilyfishing.com).
Ice fishing activities will include learning proper catch and release techniques and making your own ice fishing rod from a stick. Ice augers, gear and free bait will be available courtesy of our partners, the OFAH Tackleshare program, Ramakko’s and the Sudbury Game and Fish Protective Association.
Round out the day with building a snowman or sculpture on the lake, or going for a snowshoe out on the lake or hiking trails – snowshoes and maps will be available for free. Warm up at any time at the Nature Chalet or by our outdoor fire and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate. All ages are welcome!
No pre-registration is required – drop in any time!
