Friends of Lake Laurentian - Our Events
Christmas Bird Count!
Are you and your family always wondering what bird that is visiting your feeders? Come out and take part in Conservation Sudbury’s third annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids! The event will be held on Saturday, January 2nd at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area Nature Chalet (2309 South Bay Rd.) from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Participants will be introduced to our local winter bird species, then head out in birding teams with an experienced birder for a hike and bird count. Following presentations of bird counts, families will have the opportunity to make a bird feeder at a cost of $8.00 to bring home and attract some feathered friends to their yards!
Feed the Birds, Feed the People - the donation of a non-perishable food item to support the Food Bank is requested. Space is limited to 25 youth participants (ages 6-12 recommended), and their adult family members. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to reserve a spot.
Thank you to the generous support of our sponsors, the Walden Senior’s and Pensioner’s Woodshop, Pinehill Lumber, The Backyard Birder, and the Sudbury Ornithological Society for making this event possible.
